The borders domestically are opening!

The borders domestically are opening and watching the joyful reunions at Melbourne and Sydney airports this morning certainly bought a tear to my eye. With talk of vaccinations and things starting to return to normal, I feel very confident that we are closer to the other side than ever before.
Realistically international travel will begin next year with travel bubbles starting one at a time. The expected bubbles are with, New Zealand, Lord Howe and Norfolk Island, South Pacific, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. Once the vaccination kicks in by mid next year, I believe travel around the world will pick up very quickly.

I have been watching with interest the bookings coming in for late 2021 and 2022, especially for cruising. The deposits required have been dropped to only $99.00 per person in some cases. This is brilliant if you are wanting to plan that special trip and get the date you want, the room you want, at the great prices on offer now, it is not too much to outlay.

I am not one to buy into the constantly used book now only 1 room left marketing making you feel like you are going to miss out. However, demand is definitely going to outstrip the supply, so in this case, I would encourage you to call us and start your enquiry.
We are taking new bookings now. Holidays like small cruise journeys for the end of 2021 and beyond are very popular. The idea of less people cruising around Asia or the South Pacific has obvious appeal. In fact, cruising is the fastest filling type of holiday.  We have access to all the Black Friday specials

Our team has been very fortunate to have travelled in Australia extensively, so you will get great advice and ideas from us.
Some things that have caught our eye are:
  • Lady Elliot Island
  • Safari like camping tours in the outback.
  • A jet tour around Australia with APT
  • A Day drip from Melbourne to see the Southern Aurora Australis lights.
  • The Ghan is up and running again after the small hiccup with South Australia.
  • ULURU
  • Swimming with the whale sharks.
  • Burgundy to Barossa for the wine lovers
  • Resort holidays with spas and beautiful views, we have some of the worlds best
For those that have experienced and loved tours around the USA or Europe, please know those very same companies are offering trips within Australia. If you haven’t yet explored home yet, now is the time to discover how diverse and beautiful our land is.

We are fully operational and have been working hard to get back your refunds and/or rebooking as per your request. To date we have refunded $ 1,916,927.00, still waiting on $175,548 that is processed and requested, but still waiting for it to come back and we have processed $890,000 of our client's travel in credit with various wholesalers and airlines! Many companies do not consider the refund process until the original departure date is reached and even then, we still have delays on some airlines that go back many months.

You should have all received an email a few months back outlining your individual circumstance and what we are working toward on your behalf. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

We Are Here To Stay

I want to update you on the changes that we will adopt for a little while longer. We will still work from home for the time being and may even rent or share our office space for the next year. will advise you if this happens. We have had government support and have run a very tight ship financially for over 30 years and we will get through this. t will be with your help of course, we would love to start talking to you about new bookings as you can imagine refunding and reorganising is not as much fun as new bookings.

All indications are that our industry rebuild will take some time and we want to be there next year and beyond, so we need to deliver our service to you in different, but no less professional way. If you call our number we will answer and our email theworld@braesidetraveltravel.com.au is constantly monitored.

Please call or email us if you have holiday thoughts or plans, we can zoom, meet for a coffee or simply have a chat on the phone. We are itching to get back to what we love best and that is talking travel!

I want to thank my team yet again for all their hard work and the extra miles they have travelled for you, our clients. They have used this time to really hone their destination skills, signing into many webinars and getting access to all sorts of information from all over the world. I thought it was a little extreme of Stacey to set her alarm clock for 2 am one night.
I am not going to pretend that it has not been tough and we still have more challenges ahead of us. We hope you, your families and your businesses have got through these tricky times and can truly look forward to Christmas and saying farewell to 2020 and hello 2021.

Things are feeling more positive and with your support we will all get back to a new normal together.

We said goodbye to our office mascot Mickey recently, and will remember all the good times we had with him.
We've included a few great 'local' offers in beautiful locations below, enjoy reading about them and never hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or need more information.

Warmest regards,
Karen
