If you’re looking for the ultimate in slow travel, an intimate barge cruise with Abercrombie & Kent offers an immersive journey through some of Europe’s most tranquil waterways. Guests are encouraged to pause and connect with the surrounding landscape at their own pace. Hop off at the nearest lock and take to the towpath for leisurely cycling. Perhaps stumble across some locals playing a game of boules, or discover a meandering vineyard, its vines laden with grapes.
Enjoy private tours at markets, restaurants, cellars and chateaux, or alternatively, absorb the ever-changing scenery from a lounge on the sun deck.
At night guests are moored under the stars for alfresco dining made with locally sourced produce, paired with fine wines and relaxed conversation.
