Hello to our Valued Clients,
Who can believe that it’s now April and we’re well into Autumn? The year is flying by, and we’ve hardly had time to lift our heads since late January when our clients started planning this year’s holiday and their 2026 holiday as well!
I mentioned this time last year that our clients’ Top 5 destination picks were Japan, Italy, Greece, Vietnam/Cambodia and Hawaii. Well, this year is very much the same but added to the mix are South Korea, Egypt, South and Central America, Antarctica, and Mexico.
We love to create the best possible holiday for you, and we don’t class ourselves as a “luxury” Travel Agent – a word that is just so overused over the past few years.
What is luxury anyway? To many, it’s not a 5-6* hotel, it is a private tour guide, a chauffeur driver to meet you at the airport, it’s not having to think about making breakfast, cooking dinner and cleaning the house. It’s a first-class seat on a train travelling through Europe, it’s maybe a Premium Economy seat instead of an Economy airline seat. It’s many things to different people and we understand that. We have as many 3* hotels in our “little black book” of favourite hotels as we do 5-6* hotels. And we know the best seats in Economy Class as well as the best First-Class seats.
“World or Personal Events” are when we Travel Agents excel. We had some recent “events”, where clients had the peace of mind that we were just an email, SMS or phone call away to rearrange their travel plans. This included the Heathrow fire, the floods in Northern NSW and Queensland, and the most recent earthquake in Myanmar, and consequential disruptions in Thailand.
How stressful for those travellers who may have decided that paying a few $$$ less with online pricing was a good idea – rarely a good idea !
It’s not just ‘world events’; we deal with all sorts of crises to get our clients home quickly, illness or family issues, etcetera. It’s a long list as to why booking with us is always a good decision.
In mentioning events, this brings to mind how very resilient the travel industry is. I can’t think of any other industry that’s been affected by ALL of the following events: - Airline collapses,
- 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2011,
- GFC 2007-8,
- Brexit,
- Covid-19,
- The Internet, Smartphones, Air BNB’s
- Many natural disasters
- Etcetera
As always, call in or send us an email – we love to chat.
