Explore the Roar of Southern & East Africa

with Dragonfly Africa
“I think we all understand that the world has fundamentally changed in the last two years. However, what will never change, is people’s desire to travel, explore, and have experiences that enrich the individual.” This was how Kerry Roos, Director of Incentives and Travel at Green Route Africa, a division of the Dragonfly Africa Group, welcomed 2022. As we end the first half of the year, how is Africa coming through the uncertain times?

“The pandemic has shone spotlights on many destinations, some not too favourable,” according to Rupert Jeffries, Dragonfly’s Executive Chairman. “However, I think Southern and East Africa will do extremely well as travel builds up again. There are plenty of wide-open spaces – the Cape, Game Lodges, Victoria Falls, Masai Mara in Kenya, and so on. We also have the Indian Island Oceans. And extraordinary experiences such as the Gorillas and Chimpanzees in Rwanda and Uganda.”

Ramping Up for Growth
The team ‘is optimistic about forward bookings, especially now that key source markets (including the UK and the US) have revised their risk rating,’ said the company’s Vice President for Sales and Marketing, Yolanda Woeke.

“We are very excited to welcome the world back to our beautiful destinations. Restrictions have eased, flights have resumed, and we have already hosted many visitors from around the globe to experience the life-changing experiences of Wildlife and Safaris and our beautiful vibrant cities. Our airports, hotels, and lodges adhere to strict Covid protocols and regulations to ensure travellers enjoy a safe holiday.

Southern and East Africa are always two of the top travel destinations; we are therefore finding that business is picking up. Booking as soon as possible ensures you will still get space at our fantastic lodges and camps as it seems to be the popular destination,” Mushfiqah Daniels, Sales Manager of Dragonfly, shared.
Keeping Up with the Jones Collection
What is Dragonfly Africa excited about for this year’s virtual roadshow? “We are eager to connect with our clients again and communicate that we are here for all your needs in Africa! For this year’s roadshow, “Our sales manager will offer one-on-one appointments, allowing you to get to know your local contact and provide an update on all things in Africa post-Covid,” Daniels added.

Genesys Email Marketing
As Covid restrictions ease up, the message is clear - It’s time to rebuild. As more travel agencies find the need to promote their services, how does Genesys help them boost their promotions? "By giving them a cost-effective and hassle-free way to get those messages (which are prepared for them) to their consumers, via the marketing channel that continues to provide the highest ROI – Email." - Matthew Spicer, Managing Director at
Genesys Communications.
Why is email marketing still the most powerful tool to
take your business to the next level?
We're glad you asked. A study done by Campaign Monitor proved that for every $1 spent on email marketing, $44 is made in return. That's an astronomical number, yet 80% of independently owned travel agencies don't manage to send a single email marketing campaign per month. Why? You’re too busy. Creating content can be time-consuming and tricky. Yes, email marketing tools like Mailchimp do the job of sending mass emails.
However, does this solve your problem? Not quite. With Genesys, it only takes as little as two minutes to get things done. This is a game-changing combination of service and software that makes your email marketing easy. Choose from a library of pre-authored eDMs from various suppliers, which you can send to your database in seconds!
So, why is email marketing still relevant in 2022?
"My first attempt with Genesys was a great success, resulting in a AUD $60,000 booking... Stunning result! Now it takes a weight off my shoulders to know that I can keep my customers informed of all travel options and keep them dreaming of when borders will re-open."
- Stephanie Savage, Impulse Travel

"The only advertising we did during COVID was through Genesys. ALL my revenue was from Genesys." - Stuart Coffield, Geelong Travel
